Description
The main theme of the novel is the alienation, why ricorrenente in the works of Murakami. The main characters are Mari, a student of 19 years, spending the night reading in a bar. Here he meets Takahashi, a student who plays the trombone and loves the musical piece of Curtis Fuller's "Five Spot After Dark" included in the album Blues-Ette, Takahashi knows the sister of Mari, named Eri who is immersed in a deep sleep . Mari meets a former fighter who works as a manager in a hotel by the hour, in a Chinese prostitute who was brutally beaten and a computer expert sadist. The plot of the novel oscillates between reality and dream.
