The Journal of Object Technology Volume 10

Author/Writer: Bertrand Meyer
Introduction

The Journal of Object Technology(JOT), is a scientific journalentirely devoted toobject-oriented programmingandcomponent-based development.JOT's first issue appeared in May 2002, in response to the need for an international journal covering the object-oriented and component-based development field. From 1986 to 2001, theJournal of Object-Oriented Programming(JOOP) played much of that role. In 2000, SIGS publication, the publisher ofJOOP, was sold to a new owner, who announced the next year thatJOOPwould cease publication at the end of the year. The launching ofJOTwas largely a response to this event, as leaders from the community realized a flagship publication was needed.JOTis published on the first day of every odd-numbered month. In addition, special issues, usually coming out of conferences, are occasionally published in intermediate months. The publisher ofJOTisBertrand Meyerand theeditor-in-chiefsince the inception of the journal is Richard Wiener.
