The objectives of�IJCE�are to establish an effective channel of communication between academic and research institutions, industry communities, government agencies and persons concerned with the complex nature of collaborative engineering in design and manufacturing of technical systems. It also aims to promote and coordinate interdisciplinary research and development in the promising paradigm of Engineering as Collaborative Negotiation (ECN) as a new scientific foundation for collaborative engineering.
The international dimension is emphasised in order to overcome cultural and national barriers, and to meet the needs of global collaboration, which has become ubiquitous due to modern communication and information technologies.�IJCE�promotes fundamental pedagogical and technological changes in the current way of thinking, and accelerates the paradigm shifts in engineering research, education and application.
