Le Mariage force is a comedy-ballet in one act and in prose of Molière and Lully, shown for the first time at the Louvre, by order of his Majesty the 29 January 1664, and then given to the public on the Palace Theatre Royal on 15 February 1664 by the troops of Sir, only brother of the King. In 1672, following the break between Molière and Lully, the Le Mariage force was represented with new interludes due to Marc-Antoine Charpentier, the first was held at the Theatre du Palais Royal on 8 July 1672 .
