Smash Cut

Good authors aren't writing up to the standard we're used to, and that we expect. Smash Cut was better than some I've read by Sandra Brown, but it definitely wasn't her best work. Unless you're a movie buff, and particularly a Hitchcock one, a lot of the plot is lost on you. When she referred to several movies throughout the book, I hadn't seen any of them, therefore making the killer's intentions, and acts, vague. Never mind that it bordered just a bit on the cheesy side. I enjoyed Derek Mitchell's character, and Dodge's, but I got tired of all Julie's explanations and whining. Despite this, the book is readable, and there were a couple twists I wasn't expecting.
